Installation Instructions:
Ensure your device is powered off before installation.
Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals to the correct connectors, checking polarity carefully.
Mount the battery securely in either a horizontal or vertical position to avoid vibration or damage during use. It is not recommended to install the battery upside down.
Charging Guidelines
Use the Correct Charger. Only use a charger designed for 12V SLA batteries. Incorrect charging voltage or current can cause thermal runaway or battery failure.
Do Not Overcharge or Overdischarge. Prolonged overcharging or deep discharging can permanently damage the battery and reduce lifespan.
Ventilate During Charging. Charge in a well-ventilated area. SLA batteries can release small amounts of hydrogen gas during charging. Never charge the battery in a sealed or gas-tight container.
Maintenance Tips
This is a sealed, maintenance-free battery but occasional checks help ensure reliability:
Inspect terminals for signs of corrosion or loose connections.
Keep the battery clean, dry, and free from dust or debris.
Test the voltage periodically, especially before critical use.
Handling and Storage
Store the battery in a clean, dry location, away from moisture and humidity.
Avoid Exposure to Heat or Flames. Do not expose the battery to temperatures above 50°C, open flames, or direct sunlight.
Keep the terminals protected and covered to prevent accidental shorting of battery terminals.
Keep Out of Reach of Children. This battery is not a toy. Improper use can lead to electric shock or chemical exposure.
Warnings and Limitations for the ProSec 12V 2.3Ah Sealed Lead Acid battery:
Do not short-circuit the battery terminals. Short-circuiting the battery terminals can cause burns, fire, or explosion. Ensure that device polarity requirements are connected correctly onto the battery as it will damage the device as well as the battery if the wiring is not connected the right way.
Use only for intended applications as listed in the applications section.
Do Not Disassemble or Puncture. The battery contains sulfuric acid and lead.
Disassembling it can cause leakage, injury, or environmental damage.
Dispose of Properly. Do not throw in regular trash. This product must be recycled or disposed of at an appropriate hazardous waste facility in accordance with local regulations.
Not Suitable for High-Drain Devices. This battery is designed for low to moderate discharge applications. Not recommended for high-current draw devices like power tools.
Not a Deep-Cycle Battery. Avoid frequent full discharges. For deep cycle needs (e.g., solar systems), a deep-cycle AGM or Gel battery is more suitable.
Modifications – Do not modify terminals or solder battery leads onto terminals as it will void warranty claims. Use the correct battery terminal connector for wires going onto the battery. Failure to use the correct battery terminal connectors will result in warranty claims being rejected.
Always verify the exact size and terminal type before replacement.
